The TRANSBIG Network was initially created thanks to the support of the European Commission (Framework Programme VII (FPVII)) which provided funding for the general management of the network, the national coordination of the MINDACT trial and specific projects such as proteomics research projects.
Acknowledging the importance of the work done by TRANSBIG, private organisations such as the
Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the Association Le Cancer du Sein - Parlons-en, the Jacqueline Seroussi Memorial Foundation,
Komen for the Cure, the
Proud2b initiative and the Brussels Breast Cancer Walk-Run have provided additional support.
MINDACT, the first clinical trial to be run under the TRANSBIG umbrella and coordinated by the EORTC, has a distinct budget that includes participation of commercial partners such as
Agendia, Novartis, F. Hoffmann- La Roche, Sanofi-Aventis, and support from national cancer organisations such as
Fondation contre le Cancer /Stichting tegen Kanker in Belgium.
