The TRANSBIG consortium is governed by three entities:
- TRANSBIG Steering Committee, composed of representatives from all the parties involved in the project
- TRANSBIG-MINDACT Executive Committee, responsible for the day-to-day management of both the MINDACT trial and the various TRANSBIG projects
- BIG Headquarters, responsible for communications and the implementation of the project
Any decision concerning the strategy, the commitments and the management of the consortium has to be approved by the TRANSBIG Steering Committee.
The work of the consortium is further organised around a number of committees with very specific functions:
- Biotechnology Committee, consisting of the microarray and proteomics working groups
- Independent Review Committee, a panel of independent experts to evaluate research proposals requesting the use of MINDACT data and/or samples (two to three experts from the panel are selected according to their expertise to evaluate each proposal submitted)
- Ethical-Legal Committee, a panel of independent clinicians, researchers, patient representatives, legal and biobanking experts, whose mission is to anticipate and to address any ethical and legal issues that may arise either from the MINDACT trial or any TRANSBIG project
- Spreading of Excellence Committee, consisting of experts in communication and patient advocacy, provides communications support (e.g., preparation of brochures) and carries out educational projects that range from workshops to the training of young oncologists
