An overview of recent and ongoing clinical trials
for breast cancer, 4th EDITION 2006
NOW AVAILABLE ON
http://www.journals.cambridge.org/BIGoverview

Since its inception in 1996, the Breast International Group has published several editions of An Overview of Recent and Ongoing Clinical Trials for Breast Cancer. The objective of this project has always been to provide care providers and investigators a compendium of breast cancer clinical trials – and information about the collaborative groups conducting such research – in a concise, easy-to-digest format.

The major difference between the current fourth edition and previous ones is that we have now opted for an entirely electronic format, which will be easier to keep updated over time. As in the past, we have attempted to avoid duplication of information by listing each trial only under the name of its coordinating group, except in cases where two groups share this function. We hope that you will find this new edition informative, and welcome your feedback in order to improve future editions.

We are sincerely grateful to the many groups from around the world, both BIG and non-BIG, who have contributed to this latest endeavour. The dedication of their research teams, together with a growing spirit of international collaboration among investigators, are the key to developing ever better treatments for individual patients around the world.

Finally, we would like to thank Breast Cancer Online (www.bco.org) and Cambridge University Press for all their editorial and technical support, as well as enthusiasm for the project over the years.
